The company, which amongst other things co-developed world-wide renowned open source software WordPress, and which runs the blog hosting platform WordPress.com, allows its employees to have all the freedom in the world. The ProSiebenSat.1 Accelerator is filling up for the first time. Untypically for ProSiebenSat.1, six rather than seven start-ups are moving across to the media group’s accelerator in Unterföhring. In addition to infrastructure and office space, the start-ups are to receive 25,000 euros and a mentoring programme. ProSiebenSat.1 had more than 150 applications for the first accelerator programme. German kitchen buyers are probably not aware of it yet, but things are hotting up in the online kitchen market! Together with SevenVentures, i.e. ProSiebenSat.1, Küchen Quelle (English: “Kitchen Source”) (www.kuechen-quelle.de) is aiming to “safeguard and accelerate its growth trajectory”. It sounds like a massive injection of millions: according to information obtained by deutsche-startups.com, Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) are investing in start-up Mister Spex (www.misterspex.de), which specializes in glasses. All of the existing shareholders – amongst them DN Capital and Xange – took part in the financing round, which was not annouced beforehand. Mister Spex most recently raised an impressive seven million euros in its second financing round.
